HIKING: Lower Douglas Falls Trail

Description

This trail (lower part only) is an amazing trail for the family. The walk is easy with only a 240 elevation difference with a round trip distance of 1 mile. Douglas falls has a breathtaking cascade of 60 feet with all kinds of rocks to look for salamanders!

Directions

From NC 197 in Barnardsville, NC turn onto Dillingham Road. Follow Dillingham road for about 6 miles. once in the National Forest the road crosses a one-lane bridge then turns in to FR 74 (gravel). Continue 8.7 miles on FR 74 past Walker Falls until it ends in the parking lot. The trail will be in the far Right (SSW) corner of the parking lot.
